hard to shift, especially when hot

I'm at Road Atlanta for a NASA HPDE/TT weekend. The transmission is difficult to shift into gears, especially when the engine is hot or the rpm's are high. Right after engagement, the rpms change even with the clutch depressed, as if the clutch is dragging. I tried bleeding the clutch hydraulics, but this hasn't helped. The slave cylinder has full travel.

The clutch is a Spec Stage 3 with Fidanza flywheel.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you try adjusting the clutch pedal?

Adjust the clutch pedal. The clutch is not fully disengaging.

Adjusting the pedal didn't help. Now it's much worse.. looking like a failed clutch or flywheel. Thanks for the suggestions.

Just a quick update. Replaced the Spec stage 3 clutch this weekend with a Exedy twin HD. Two springs from the clutch disc were separated from the disc, one tab on the release bearing was broken, and several pressure plate fingers were over traveled!

Some of these issues were possibly caused by over-adjusting the clutch travel trying to get rid of the high rpm lockout. Not sure what the root cause failure was from.

So, it would be good to know the safe limits of the clutch adjustments for the different aftermarket clutches where there's better disengagement, but not so much travel as to damage the pressure plate, etc.
