Ended up being the IAC Motor, replaced it a year ago and it runs fine

touching the bleed screw is not sound advice. It is not used for idle, it is used to keep the throttle plate from getting stuck closed from vacume.

I paid 380 from the stealership and another 350 to install...twas a RIPOFF!

Holy Crap I have an Idle Air Control solenoid for sale for $100 and you can put it in yourself for about 25 minutes of your time!!! Sorry it cost so much to fix. Thanks for the info though this will help the next person who has this problem. After a few more years of working on the Evo I agree it is a bad idea to adjust the bleed idle screw. SmikeEvo and I have since both learned a lot!

get an evo9 bov cause sometimes crappy bov or an untuned car with an aftermarket bov can act up sometimes. I had a Greddy type S and the car use to idle rough when i stopedrigt away at the light and once or twiced it shut off on me, BUT when i put in an evo9 bov the car idles perfect...btw i also have the HKS grounding kit since evos have bad grounding connections.
