The Red's a promising turbo, people already have dyno sheets and such on barely built blocks or anything of the sort, being around like 370 ish hp on one. I placed a order for mine around the same time 7-22, but have since cancelled that order since it didn't make any sense for me to wait that long when i can have a better turbo for me in my possession.

There's a thread floating around about in PR, the Red has already made like 600hp. The E85 one is just crazy as well, 525hp. Hopefully they make it out to the track and get some times.

I have put a thousand miles on mine so far. 4 runs down the 1/4 mile, an hour on a dyno, and a good bit of "spirited driving". No problems so far.

So for straight pump gas the green is still a better choice?

That's entirely up to the individual. For some, no. For others, yes. I personally think neither should be used on pump gas, because their biggest gains over the stocker are seen at high boost levels. Both have a lot of wasted potential when relegated to pump gas use only...

what kind of gaines would you expect just by bolting a green up and replacing a stock turbo, with my mods.

Not a lot if you are just using pump gas - maybe 20-30whp. The Green and Red shine most when running big boost, which requires octane enhancement (alky/meth injection, race gas, or e-85).

I was going to mention that you CAN run big boost on 93. However I guess if you have the mods and tuner that allow it to be possible, you would already know that. So for the guys that are asking that question you are right. For that reason I won't argue it...

Yes, we're on the same page. You can't do it with basic mods and tuning, but with everything built up, you can run quite a bit of boost on 93oct (i.e. Buschur 3 Amigos).

I disagree that the green is not a good pump gas turbo. I guess I just have the right mods then. And good tuner.

Perhaps you do. Your results are not typical on pump gas for a stock motor. You should see a much bigger gap between pump and race gas as the race gas allows a lot more boost + timing and leaner AFRs. In your case, you gained a lot more torque from running a lot more boost, but half as much WHP, which shows your pump gas boost is already pretty aggressive. That tells me you have a good setup, and it was tuned well.

You think?

Seriously, I can't say enough good about John's OE ECU tuning... now I just have to convince him to "remote" tune me on E85, then again on E85 and the Red.

My red shipped today. FP called and said they could ship today if I take off porting option which I did. They said that they were taking the porting and coating option off the website as it was causing orders to backup. I think that may be just for the red. They said they would complete peoples orders that had originally wanted porting and coating but it would just take longer. Anyway they must have received their new shipment of compressor housings because last I spoke with them that was what they were waiting on to complete orders. My original order was placed on 7/17 and I originally had ordered it ported and coated.
