Metal shavings
Today I just did my 1st oil change with a pan where I could see the oil after it was drained (usually use a covered pan). When I got out from under the car I saw a few of what I'm guessing were metal shavings. Nothing excessive by any means, but my 1st time really seeing it. I'm wondering if anything is going on that I need to be worried about or if it's just from my cams or FP green getting broken in still. They were just installed maybe 5k miles ago. Please don't jump right in and say that I have a spun bearing or anything unless you have proof to back it up. There's no abnormal noises or anything out of the sort. The cars running just fine. Just wanting to see what others opinions are.
Just to clarify though this is not my very 1st oil change since my recent installs.

You may want to note if the material is magnetic or not. Mark the comments in your service log, keep an eye out for more metal particles. There isnt normally enough material coming off camshafts or out the drain hole of a turbo to visually see in the bottom of your oil pan or captured n the filter. Camshaft particles will be very small and granular and retrieved from the oil filter with a magnet. Nothing magnetic will come out of the turbo oil drain hole, just brass/bronze tiny flakes, and only then during a turbo total failure.
Keep an eye out for a balance shaft bearing or oil pump problem. But if you dont find more stuff in the next filter that you cut open, you may be fine.

I'm using Mobil 1
And ForcedPerformance, the particles did seem magnetic as I could roll the ***** of metal between my thumb and forefinger and they would break into smaller pieces, almost microscopic. Maybe they weren't even metal and might have just been some dirt or something?
