Slow VIII ?'s

First off I'm new here, my name's Andrew, and I got my first Evo a month ago. Its an 03 TB. I've owned several 1g's so I've jumped more than a decade forward on the 4g63 time line.

Ok, as for some background. I got the car a month or so ago after it had sat for close to two years. It needed a new clutch and new spark plugs to get it running again. The plugs were so fouled it wouldn't start on the terrible old gas or fresh 93. Car was ran at 23psi and there was some sort of tune on it but it ran rough. I have the boost 2 psi over stock now and a stock tune again. The car runs smooth and drives fine but its slow. The other night I barely took a 04 wrx that only had a flash (not sti?!?!?!). Also, I have tbe, k&n filter, mbc, greddy type-s, and act clutch & flywheel.

Now my ? is, where's my hp? I'm gunna do a boost leak test, compression test, the turbo had a little shaft play, not bad though. Anything else I should look into? Could I need a new fuel pump since the car was periodically started, without moving, for two years on the same tank of gas til it was almost empty? I see that the only fuel filter is in the pump assembly; is this correct? Could it be clogged?

What size is the compressor inlet? I'm guessing I need a 2.5" I.D. house?

True, I jumped a decade in the 4g63 time line.

whats up man.. i actually just went to RRE for a reflash the other nite and i had my boost controller turned all the way up and was only boosting 17psi? obviously there was a problem.. so scott grey and i took a look at it.. the boost controller was installed correctly.. so he came to the conclusion that it had to be a boost leak.. my greddy bov was def. the prob. and he said it too. told me that the oem piece was much better.. so as soon as i put on my mr bov.. boost hit awesome and held like it was supposed to.. at 23 psi.. and i had a **** eating grin on my face for the whole day!!! sooo maybe put ur stock bov back on and see what happens.. hope this helps!

I think your problem is in your stock flash. Get it tuned and it should get a lot faster. Oh yeah, your turbo should have no shaft play at all. Should get that checked also.

You may need new Throttle Body seals. You will find this out when you do the boost leak test.

leaky injector o rings on 2 and 3 but the real problem is the bov. With it hooked up I can't get any pressure in the pipes at all. Even the vacuum line leaks like a sieve when hooked up. Any fixs other than replacing it? The car came with this bov on it so i don't have a replacement on hand.

Sounds like the diaphragm is worn out. To the trash with it?
