problem after cam install

after i installed my cams with my friend that is a tech after the install my vac is down to around 11 and the idle is very rough and lean im trying to determine if my timing went off or a simple modification to my tune will fix the rough idle.. the cars drives easy just low rpm it struggles.

It's worth the time to double check the timing just in case. I've had cars towed over for similar reasons so it's worth your time to just double check your marks.

It's most likely just the car reacting to the new cams. You'll notice a drop in vac and a lopier idle.

come on dude, after any bigger cam install your vacuum will go down...your talking about a big cam with the M2, i lost 5psi of vacuum, you lost 11g which is about 5psi, either way no big deal, second with a cam that has a longer duration you gain top end...well sorry to tell ya bro you cant have the best of both worlds, you sacrifice bottom end, although a good tune with sum timing added down low you shouldnt have a problem, and a tune will also fix your idle since your probly idling around 10* and should be around 5* after the tune for your cams...anymore questions PM me

yea set your idle from 10-50 load and from like 500 - 1250 to 5* that should help...you may also need to scale your maf and/or injectors so try that

just post it youll get an instant response more then likely its PO300 which is random/multiple cylinder misfire...it happens from the stumbling idle...and your idle will richen up when you run less timing at idle

it ended up being p0300. Multiple cylinder misfires. Theres also a loud rattle coming from the intake cam near top left cover of valve cover. vvhiteix is going to take the valve cover back off tonight and check it out. What can be causing this rattle noise from the intake cam? Everything was torqued.

dont bother bro..its your PCV...mine does the same thing nothings wrong dont waste your time...youve never had a cammed car before have you? lol ...not making fun just ask questions before jumping to take your car apart...anyone with cams can tell you that sumtimes the PCV or Pressure Control Valve which is on the top left of the valve cover just behind the oil cap will sumtimes make noise like a clicking rattling type noise
