Exclamation Switching BOV issue! HELP!

OKay i currently has the Forge DV bov, on my evo 8. It was being controlled by the HKS EVC 5.

I recently swapped the Forge DV bov with the EVO 9 MR bov, and driveablitly while on the gas is great, no stuttering or fluttering BUT! when the BOV is blows hard and u come to a light and u put it in neutral the RPMs fall to 500 and the car almost stalls, unless i give it a little more gas.

Also when i went WOT on the Forge DV bov it would boost 26-26.5 PSI. Since i swapped to the EVO 9 MR bov, when i go WOT i feel a loss of power and the BOV only boosts 24 psi.

What does this all mean? Need for retune? Boost leak?

It could be numerous things but I doubt its your Bov.

Boost leak, or tune.

And you lost 1-2 psi? lol, you can lose that due to something as simple as weather change. You probably have a boost leak.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Well, boost leak is a good idea. I assume its recir back into the intake. As for the loss of power, it doesnt surprise me. The IX DV cannot hold as much boost as the Forge. So its opening a little bit under WOT and you are seeing less boost. OR you have a major boost leak.

So recap: boost leak first. If the DV isnt holding, you will hear it open when testing.

Why is your bov controlled by a boost controller. Also did you put the bov in the correst way. Bottom of plunger goes towards the upper ic pipe.

Also in higher gears low rpm high load the bov will create flutter.

well i have changed back to the Forge DV bov and the boost went back to 26 and the power came back, no stalling, no 500 rpm drop at idle or anything.

I had a similar problem with my rpms dropping off almost causing it to stall with the MR bov. My car also has 880 injectors and HKS 280 so I thought that was normal. I then switched to an APS bov and the idle is now steady.

Thats wierd because I am in the exact same situation right now. I had the forge and switched back to the MR and its not holding boost and also running a little wierd. I dunno if its because i got tuned with the forge on but i think im going to have to switch back....
