Angry HVAC problems....

So today I went to switch from AC to Heat on the HVAC control when I heard something make like a snapping noise. My HVAC control was always hard to turn when it reached the middle of hot/cold. But now, it wont go all the way to max heat or all the way to max ac without popping up. Any idea what this could be?

Since it looks like you have an '03 your car probably has the original HVAC controls in it. There was a revision to these controls issued a while ago.

Contact a Mitsu dealer and ask for PN: 7801A110. They are updated parts for the bits that usually break in the '03 HVAC set-up. If you ask the dealer should also be able to provide you with installation instructions.
