how to remove hvac for dd install

hey all, im in the middle of working on my double din mod..
and im having a hard time removing the hvac. I've searched but all i got was 'its pain in the *** to take it off'. lol
the two wires in the back of the hvac, do i just pull them off? or is there a specific way to get them off? i just don't want to break something.
Any tip is appreciated!
Thanks,

I really don't understand why this isn't in the how-to...

You disconnect the wire's from underneath the dash on the driver side not on top of the HVAC.... all u need is some needle nose pliers so u can push the two tabs together holding the wires in place

thanks guys for the info.
I tried to disconnect the two cables from underneath by pushing two tabs.. but it doesn't seem to come off. any tips on this?
Do I just push them and pull the cable off?

I think you have to jam a screwdriver in between the metal part and the plastic HVAC module, but I'm not 100% sure. I have a pic in the link on what I think you're supposed to do -- I ended up messing with it until it finally came out, but the screwdriver I show is what I think is the right technique.

Yes, use a thin flat head and pry (carefully) up between the metal clip and the plastic on the HVAC unit itself. It will take some wiggling and trial and error but it will come out. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on the plastic as it can break, then you'll have some issues!

finally got them off. All i had to do was push the two tabs together with a needle nose, then wiggle and pull them.
