badly in need of help. please read

I bought a set of cams that were suppose to be hks272 well there not. The seller swears he had stock springs in the car and seems like a stand up guy. Ivey installed them today. I have a major boost leak..spool is full at 5k so def a boost leak/this is with the cut out close refrence my mods/ car dyno 322whp/270tq. Now my question: If the cams are bigger than 272 and need different spring would i be able to tell? The car was taken to redline three times. I feel Ivey would have known something was wrong. The idle is choppy. Im using my cell to type this so no charts are available. Please give me some input.

Hey Jason, I'll be more than happy to take those cams back if you want to. Sorry about the whole ordeal. You definitely don't need valve springs on those cams. The lobes on those cams are smaller than the FPR4 I swap them out with (FP don't even recommend valve springs on the FPR4). I hope you find the source of the boost leak and get your car tune.

None of the HKS require springs. None of the standard Comps require springs.

The FP4Rs are safe to 8K according to FP, But not above with out he beehive springs.

Uhh are you trying to say the cams caused a boost leak?

Car needs some more mechanical attention before the tune can be completed. Late spool can be indicative of a numbber of mechanical issues. I think the cams will be fine I wouldn't worry about that yet. Let's find out why it's spooling so late, checking for boost leaks is the first step in that process.
You cannot tune a car that needs mechanical attention, the results are not going to be wht you expect.

It's not done.
