future plans

I leave for Iraq in December, I'll be gone for 8 months. I'm going to be banking over there. My goals are high 400 hp to about 550 hp. When I come back I want to get the FPRed, Kelford 280's with springs, retainers, and head studs, and meth (I'm thinking about the Aquamist HFS-5). I'm just looking for any input - pro's/con's. And looking at the mods in my signature, what would you change out to better support my goals?

Does the red respond well to high boost the way the green does?

the FP red does better in the top end than the green, in fact between 28-32 psi is where the turbo really shines, so that goal is quite realistic, i would also port match and polish both the mani's, get it breathing nicely, than if you wanna go further an evopowermods 02 dump housing, great for holding high boost pressures... all that with the FPred dyno tuned, 500whp would probably be realized quickly, get an AEM EMS to tune out the rest of the power, but after 550whp i would suggest some internals to help support that, a built 2.0 to rev out and let the red show its colors, youll be happy and wonder why you didnt do it sooner...

pros:
looks like a stock turbo
has plenty of top end
quick spool, full boost by 5500rpm
less stress on motor
bolts up like stock
performance comparable to a GT3076R
significantly cheaper than a GT3076R
easily tuned

cons:
you dont have one yet

you want to read more into it, check this thread out https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=372659 shows significant comparisons of the green vs the red and dynod on both low and high boost

just my ideals...

You think the 280's are too big? Should I stick with the 272's?

272's are a good street cam set, it'll be a nicer powerband than the 280's too, if you had a stroker/hta35r 280's would make more sense, but those HKS 272's would really help make that FPred work to its potential
