troubleshoot: boost falling off???

hey all, id apreciate some input here. last night i was on the way home from a road trip. engine was pretty hot as 70mph in 5th gear is about 3K rpms. i hate cruising it that high but its not a 6 speed so what are you gonna do. anyway coming out of a toll booth i decided to get on it. 1st and second gear were fine, but when i go to third, it pulled normal up to about 5K then it felt like the boost just stopped. normally it pulls much higher than that. the car slowed big time once i hit 5K in third, but when i shifted to 4th it picked back up. it was raining so the intercooler was plenty wet im sure. i have not had this problem before wet or dry. my friend just had an IC hose loose on his WRX so it wasnt boosting right but it doesnt make sense that seemingly only one gear had the problem. i have a boost gague on the way. ill have to take the car out today and see if the problem persists. it was pretty hot im sure when that happened last night. thanks for input.

On a stock car the accerlation feeling will appear to drop off after 5K. Sounds normal.

hmmm

Maybe your tires started to spin in third because of the lack of downforce with the low wing.

Do you have an intake?

yeah lack of downforce must have been it, good one..........
as for traction it didnt sound nor feel like loss of. just felt it pulling then all of a sudden it stopped pulling in 3rd, once i shifted into 4th it picked right back up. i suppose loss of traction is possible but i dont think so. no intake by the way
