Nope...the housing free'd up enough clearance plus taking out the front mount bolt and jacking up the front end ever so slightly did the trick.

So I have the motor, trans and tc out of the car but they are all attached. All of you are saying the tc comes right off when the 6 bolts are out but mine gets freed up and seperated about 3 inches and from there it will not come off. Any insight?

you have to pull the two cross shafts out of the TC to get it off of the trans. put two bolts back in the tc, get a slide hammer to pop the shafts out, and then unbolt it.

Back the 4 subframe bolts out a little bit but not all the way, this should give you about an inch and a half of clearance to drop the TC and Tranny if needed

you DONT need to pull both output shafts to take off the transfer case. You only need to take out the output shaft that sticks out from the tranny on the drivers side. you will need a slap hammer and a M8x40 bolt....should only take a few slaps and it will slide out of the trans. which will release t-case from the trans.

Can you imagine what hell people went through before this trick was thought up. Its almost impossible to get it off without knowing this tip.

once you have it loose from teh tranny... pull out the driveshaft... so it's just the tcase alone... wiggle th motor back and forth and angle the tcase to it's side a bit... it should drop right down... if that takes TOO long... use teh time to unbolt the rear 4 bolts of the casing that hold the ds in the tcase and pull that casing off... it'll make the back of the tcase smaller and it'll come out MUCH easier...
