Crank timing gear removal

Crank timing gear removal

I am having trouble trying to get the gear off the crank...Is their a trick I ended up bending the screws on the puller kit

It should just slide right out after you remove the main crank bolt that's on the end of the crank.

I did not remove that bolt...why does that bolt need to be removed?
