Evolution Tuning Basics
I assume that many of us, myself included, once had a dsm before an evo. on dsm duners.com they had a great section on tuning the cars. each step was thoroughly outlined and how-tos were given for each modification.the site even gave when each part would need to be replaced and what tpe of performance would be reached with each setup. dsmtuners gives those on the site the right way to build a dsm, and it was a free and easily accessible tool. the dsm has been tuned for some time and by many, which of course made it easier for the site to create this guide. i think that since the evo has been around for a while we should have a similiar guide/walkthrough. at least for the models that have been tinkered with for a while (maybe even the evo VIII?) so those wanting to work their evo dont have to post the same question over and over and can get instant reliable information without having to ask a question, or wait for a response. i personally hate the "which muffler should i get?" threads, but if we include preferred parts in the guide it would eliminate those as well. i cant find a thread like that on evolutionm.net and i think if there is one it should be right on the main page. am i the only one that thinks this way? its gonna be a hard, tedious task to create but it would be great.

It's called the ecu flash section.....
Most guys just search to find out what suits their particlular needs. Or follow the staged upgrade paths offered by the various shops.
Not everyone wants to just go fast in a straight line. The Evo is more than the DSM could ever achieve. Therefore, the upgrade path to power is not defined as a universal law.
There are proven methods though and what you seek requires research for your intended end use. Spend some time lurking on the boards and you will see all the info is there. Dont forget, we are all still learning about these cars as well.
