in his defense, my stock clutch did hold out for a few weeks on my Green w/ meth @ 415wtq, but I didn't dare launch the car.

It mostly depends on how you drive the car. Of course, 450wtq has got to be pushing the limit

I just also changed from the Green to the Red recently.
Gained alot more power as well.

The Green spools a little faster. And torque hits also a little sooner. I thought that the HTA wheel would actually spool the Red faster than the Green, but it does lag just a hair more. But the Red, once it hits full boost, it just pulls alot more.
I can guess that the Red is making about the same HP at 25 psi pump gas on my car than the Green did at 32 psi on C16.

The Green is a fun Turbo to run. I was very happy with it.

The Red outperforms the Green on pump gas, and on 35 psi, on race fuel, is nuts.

Congratulations on your excellent results.

I think a lot of us would like to see a direct comparison between the spoolup between a Green and a Red turbo.

just a hair laggier than green, is it like 200-300 rpm? what rpm does it hit full boost in 3rd gear?

^^^ I was actually comparing your Green dynograph to your Red graph (even though you ran a little more boost on the Red on race gas), and from what I remember, your Red made essentially the same torque as your Green did at any given rpm during spool-up (i.e. both made 350wtq @ 4XXXrpms).

The Red looks to spool very close to the Green, but holds boost much better.

Manie, I just realized that your car put down higher numbers on CFTs Mustang Dyno, than on a Dynojet. Were temps and humidity similar?

One thing is for sure - it's getting harder and harder to make sense of dyno numbers. Now, even stock-turboed Evos are putting down 400+whp on 'Mustang' Dynos on pump gas (no meth).

Definitely frustrating when trying to compare power from 2 different setups/turbos...

Mudduck,

You know how we are allways in the quest to improve things, or so we think!

After the CFT Dyno, and after the race fuel was gone, and pump gas was put back in the car the next few days, I started to log and tune the car on pump.
My 1st. change was the Forge WGA. I dialed back down to attempt to control boost better on pump, and fix a little Turbo surge I was getting.

So when the car was put at BVP Dyno a few weeks later, the boost did not hold as much on the top. That, and the fact that at CFT, we mixed C16 with 93.
At BVP, I drained the whole tank, and then Dyno with 100 percent C16.
My logs show that at CFT my A/Fs were 12.1~12.2.
At BVP due to the pure fuel, the logs show A/F's at 11.7~11.8.

I think the WGA change from 22 psi spring pressure to 18~19 spring pressure, and the fuel, not holding 30 psi, but 27~28 psi on the top, made for the difference.

I have changed all the settings back to the way they were at CFT.
I will Dyno again some time, so then we can compare to see.

I don't blame the Dynos, but my self, for having a couple of changes between the 2 Dyno runs. I was not even going to put it at BVP. It was a last minute thing. Not bad numbers, though.

Here is the 1st. Green Dyno at CFT, and the 1st. Red Dyno there, for comparison of spool-up and numbers.
The graphs look very similar, but you can clearly see the Red spools a hair later. I have some boost logs showing sometimes they boost about the same time. 21 psi of boost at 3800~3900 rpms on both.
Both Turbos are good, as they both hold power on top.

Green ^

Red ^

I hope this helps you guys see the difference.

^ I think that is exactly what people should expect. You have to give up something to get all that extra gogo up top.

Some say that it has made the 3076, as well as the 3065 obsolete. It is a much better spooler than either of those two. It flows more air than the 3076, but not as much as the 3065. There are a couple of 9-second Red turboed Evos. Are there any 9-second 3065 equipped cars out there?
