Which BOV to use APS dual vent or another?

Trying to figure out what bov to go with, I will be running 35r and up to 30psi. I was looking at the aps dual vent. Everything i have saw on them have been great but is there anything else out there that is new that will do the job? just looking and trying to weigh my options before i purchase. This will be on stock ecu and stock MAF setup.

You ever read up on the new Tial Recirc BOV.. You can try that out to see if you like it. I heard good things about it. Just my .2 cent. Good luck.

aps is good for upto 25psi, to the best of my knowledge. Great driveability, sound. For 30psi, you'll have to try a forge unit or like Johnny said the tial recirc.

Not too sure if that is 100% true someone on the evo-ny forums tested the popular BOV's at the time and if I'm not mistaken the APS was tested and held boost to 40psi.

Stock Evo IX BOV will hold your 30psi and maintain good drivability. From what I've seen the APS starts leaking before the IX does.

Check with mellon. He is running one at 34.5psi on a HTA35r.

IX is good for 25psi max...anyone that says other wise is lying or not testing properly. If it could hold 30psi before leaking most would never upgrade...

Have you ever use APS to confirm that APS will leak at lower boost level than stock IX DV?
the stock IX DV will not hold 30psi unless you crush it.
Mellon has been using APS with high boost, why don't you look at his APS review before you make false statement.

I've had JDM MR dv, GReddy RS, and now APS. the JDM MR DV is the same as IX DV but it starts leaking at 22ish psi, but every piece is different, some holds more than the other. Now I am using APS this is very smooth no matter how little throttle you give.

My friend's IX DV flutters at partial throttle in 4th gear in low speed, so IX DV does flutter.

This was a post from evo-ny.com

I posted some of this info on evom, but I'd thought I would place it here.

After an unsuccessful evening at Etown, we came home and did a boost leak test.
Wow. Fittings started hissing at < 6psi. Found lots of loose clamps, and that the MR DV wasn't holding boost very well,
even though it was crushed at a tuning session and made 15whp more.

Having dealt with lots of boost leak issues in the past, and having to "trust" the DV was doing its job without much real verification,
I built a BOV tester out of parts found at your local HW store.

Check it out:

I attach it to my air supply, adjust the regulator, starting at zero, and watch the psi guage.

Here are some interesting results: (note: by leaking I mean the air started to escape through the seat seal)

OEM plastic DV - started leaking at < 6psi
OEM metal MR DV (crushed) - started leaking at 22 psi
Greddy Type S - complete fail - ripped diaphram
Greddy Type RS - same; my patch of the diaphram didn't hold past 12 psi

Now some good news - I just received the APS from Z1 today. So on the tester it went... results:

APS - held to 40 psi for > 5 mins.

APS FTW!!!

Can't wait to get this on the car and see what happens.

I'll have to bring this little diddy to a meet with a portable pancake, and we can have some fun testing BOVs.
