Center Diff, how to inspect and change?

The center diff inside the tranny (not the t case as that is in fact the front diff) Is it possible to inspect and change without removing the tranny? Also where you find replacement center diffs?

Definitely not.

Not only is the ring gear attached to the diff freaking huge its also boxed in by the gear set. So you have to at least take off the entire front housing which isn't going to happen with it in the car.

Good info, just trying to figure out if my center diff or my rear diff took a **** on me, and which will be easier to inspect first.
