I am very familiar with lifter tick. I had a 92 z34 lumina with a 3.4dohc v6. The lifters would get noisy almost religiously every time i was due for an oil change.

Its definitely not a lifter tick. im almost certain after miles of listening, the noise is coming from the driver front of the car.......and thats exactly where the factory boost solenoid is located.
