How much HP gain from Test pipe and axle back

How much wheel hp gain will I get from just using test pipe and a axle back?

I have seen test pipe dyno for 10 wheel horse power and another 10 for axle back. So does this mean I will get 20 HP at the wheel for this setup ?

Probably not going to get 20 from the two. The main restrictions seem to be the downpipe and the muffler, but then again I have not tested any test pipes as of yet. Soneone did test several cats vs a test pipe a few weeks ago, do a search for random and dyno.

I thought the main restrictions were the cat converter and the muffler. I would guess a test pipe with a muffler delete pipe would offer reasonable power. If someone could dyno this setup and prove it was effective, then this would be a ridiculously inexpensive exhaust upgrade for max power.

Maybe we could get someone from Buschur or Work to respond?

I will have direct results from the buschur testpipe and new axle back compared directly to another tuned vishnu stage 1 car this weekend. We dynoed on the same day same dyno when I was stock and he had the vishnu turbo back now we will get tuned by shiv himself same day same dyno both at stage 1 power cept different exhausts

Hi guys,

Power output really depends a little bit on the system you choose. The LancerSport system (built by H&S in the UK, same as Ralliart UK) is known for good gains, particularly in torque:

Cat-back, expect 10+ hp and 10-12 ft/lbs of torque;

Cat-back plus downpipe, retaining factory cat: approx. 17hp (!)

Turbo back (cat free, but retaining cast manifold etc) - 20 to 25 hp, + 20 ft/lbs.

This is from two different dyno runs, (different cars, locations and days).

On our system, each piece fits in place of the factory pieces, so you do have some nice flexibility.

These are the same guys that make the ScoobySport system for the WRX, and the sound quality is legendary. On the Evo, the sound is absolutely sweet, with very deep pitches...

Regards,
KC
