Plastic 8DV to Metal 9DV problems.

I swapped the plastic blow off valve for the Metal 9 one yesterday, now i get a really bad flutter when the air is discharging ? The plastic one ran fine - i checked all my clamps, everything is tight - and the car idols fine so the vacuum tube is fine. Is it just a faulty bov?

Did you put it on backwards? Lower port goes to the UICP side port to the Intake

You will get a bit more part throttle flutter with the metal IX valve though

Nope. That's normal. You need an APS BOV/DV. Expensive, but worth it.

Maybe I put it on the same way the plastic 8 one came off. bottom to the intake and side to the UICP, why would it be switched? the internals f the bov match up the same? At full boost it discharges very fluttery

Its backwards then. The bottom port needs to go to the UICP and the side to the Intake. Someone obviously had the black plastic DV off before be it the dealer, shop, or the past owner and didn't install it correctly.

Flip it around and you'll be straight. You'll likely notice that when its surging the car wants to buck a little
