TOB so help me god....

I'm damn near to the point of rolling the sob out in the street and saying **** on it. I have read all the threads and the evomoto how to. I have been trying for hrs. I keep putting the clutch fork to the driver side and prying against the collar and tob. NOTHING!!! Is there some trick that I don't know about??? How can you tell by looking at it if it is released?

I want to pull my hair out and punch myself in the face.

You mean popping the TOB off or putting a new one back in?

For popping it off it took the biggest screw driver i had and twisting it to get it to pop off. I used a medium screw driver to get it started then wedged the larger one in there. I had a buddy pull on the TOB while i twisted and she finally popped off.

Putting the bearing back in was actually pretty easy as long as the slave cylinder isn't in the way. The hardest part was just finding the best way to grip the lever and push hard enough to get it to pop. Probably could use a wrench and get some leverage on it that way.

Use the biggest flat head you have and keep twisting.

yeah twisting is the best bet make sure that you are using a screw driver both top and bottom at the same time. once you have the retaining ring pinned back operate the clutch arm... So basically the operation is to force the piece on pressure plate that you will see move all the way in. Then hold the piece in with the screw drivers. Then twist and operate the clutch arm....

If all else fails i have heard that people take the rubber piece out from around the clutch operating rod and run extensions and take the pressure plate bolts loose. I have done many clutches and never had to do this....

Had one get jammed also. Would not come out like the others. Spent half a night slicing through the pressure plate retainer that holds the ring with a carbide bit, yes - through the 1.5" hole. .

I hope you wont have to do this

I figured out the trick to it, can do it in 20 seconds flat every time now. Use two long flatblade screwdrivers, one from the bottom hole and one from where the fork sticks out. Then just apply some pressure away from the TOB and twist both at the same time. It's a million times easier than trying to do it with one tool once you get the hang of it.

if your tranny is already separated from the engine before tryin to remove the TOB it wont work...make sure you push them back together first, and its very easy to slide it in and twist.....test it on your new one..push the tob in the pressure plate so you can see how it works....

Went out to the garage to give it one last try and finally got it. I ended up putting a big screw driver between the tob and collar and twisting it 90 and then bumping the clutch fork with my hand towards the driver side and it came right off.

Thanks for all the help guys!!!
