id recommend switching the whole box, the 5spd box holds 3 quarts of fluid while the MR holds 2

I have a Evo 9 MR 6speed with 500whp and 407wtq on a Mustang dyno running a Quarter Master Twin Clutch haven't had any issues with the tranny so far and with different power levels this car has prolly seen over 150+ launches as it's used as a drag car 16k miles as it was daily driven for the first year of ownership back in 2006. Wow if it's true TRE is going to come out with a 4-5-6 stronger and longer gearing for the 6speed it would be a dream come true I been looking for an alternative to the 6speed gearbox without having to swap in a 5speed. But for now we will test the limits of the stocker and see if we can put this stock 6speed to run in the 10's in the quarter should have more results on this by the end of the month.

We are busy fabing an oil cooler for the tranny and that way should hold more fluid and keep heat at bay.
hopefully this will help the 6 speed plenty.

We just finished swapping over from 6-speed to a Bushwacker 5-speed tranny. Just make sure you have all the correct sensors, cables, brackets for the 5 speed and you're good to go. Our swap turned out excellent.

See, originally you made it sound like your tranny just "Blow'd Up." But now, it doesn't seem like TRE was at fault at all, which your first post seemed to imply.

Does shep. not have some kinda upgrade for the 6 speed like stronger gears or something along those lines...... I find he pretty reasonable, i am in touch with him cause my III center diff. spyder gears shreaded off and got flung about my box, pretty much killed it, ther was also a hole in the side of it. I think shep. is prob the way to go.

Technically, the 6 speed holds 2.3 quarts

For the record, I don't think you can go wrong with either Shep or TRE. It's about finding the best match for you. However, I do think TRE has more interest in helping out 6 speed owners who like their 6 speed.

I don't mind paying for a stronger gearset. I will do what I can to keep my 6 speed on my MR.

In the fall sometime, as in right now or next year's fall?

A new and stronger 4,5,6 gearset?!? I'm down!

I'd like to keep my 6-sp, love the lower RPM on the highway and 2nd gear is perfect for the short course at MSR
