check to see if your clutch fluid is full i know that when me and a buddy were replacing my clutch slave we fille up the resvoir but notices there were two chambers in the resvior... the chamber closest to the firewall was for the clutch pedal so check that... sometimes the fluid doesnt go into it unless you pour directly into it. something that simple cause my clutch to not engage...

Well-

I bled the system more...quite a bit actually - looked like another small air bubble. However, the car still does not want to go in gear while its on.

Any other ideas....... I'm all out

When you were installing clutch did you install all the components correctly by lining up the blue strips that are on the flywheel, center/IM plate, and pressure plate? There are three springs on each side of the center/im plate and there are slight grooves cut on the flywheel for those springs to fit in. If you did not line up blue marks correctly you could have installed center plate backwards which would cause those small three springs not to go in correct spot on flywheel which in turn would not let you properly engage clutch and that would not let the trans go in the gear while car is running. One last thing on the vibration issue did you torque pressure plate to 24 footpounds? If you left them "loose" that will cause vibration in pedal between top and middle of pedal travel. I hope that your problem was something more simple otherwise that transmission is coming out again

Thanks for the explanation Evossti...You are most likely correct. I just don't have it in me to drop the tranny again...I hate to throw the towel in, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to get her towed to a shop...

Thanks for all of the advice...

Bringing back from the dead, having the same issue.. OP, if you are out there.. What was the fix to this? You mentioned that you didn't want to go through the hassle of taking the tranny off again.. so I'm thinking that the disks were backwards, eh? Please help, thanks so much!! PMed as well!

Hey Buddy

I also replied via PM.

Yes, it ended up being that one of the discs (the one closest to the flywheel) was in backwards. The second I started the car - the flywheel bolts most likely hit it slightly - but the real damage was when I was pushing the clutch pedal in and the clutch fingers (pressure plate) cracked the clutch plate . The rest of the clutch us fine...Needless to say, the transmission had to come back out and a new clutch installed....live and learn I guess...

Keep me updated on your situation and good luck!

I am most definitely going to thoroughly inspect it when it comes out now.. My mechanic installed it this way.. so I'm hoping if there is any damage, he will pay for it. Hopefully the disks will be on backwards, but i won't have any damage.. I guess we shall see soon !
