Modding a stock evo

Hey everyone, Im currently driving a 2007 civic si and I want an evo really bad. Im looking to buy a stock 2003 or 2004 one and put on an ams gt35r turbo. I was wondering what all supporting mods I would need to put on to support the bigger turbo. Thanks guys!

First make sure you can afford to mod an evo. Turbo kits for our cars are really expensive!! With supporting mods your looking anywhere from 5k-10k .

Why is it so expensive ? I dont know people keep arguing because of quality but I had a very good .50 trim turbo kit for my previous car (SRT-4) and I only spent 1500-1600 dollars. (exhaust mani, o2 housing, garret turbo, turbo hard pipe, charge pipe with blow off valve and all the lines and fittings)

Next thing to do is search.

first make sure you can afford the evo... got a few friends who took the plunge and were in way over their heads..
then take a look at buschur racing stages 1-4 then look at getting the turbo kit.

Thanks. I can afford both the evo and the turbo kit. I was just wondering if I took the gt35r kit from ams and put it on a stock evo, what supporting parts would I need to support the bigger turbo?

first learn how to handle the car. learn the up and downs of the car because it differnt then driving a honda.Then u could start doing some mod.

My power goals are for 450-500 hp to the wheels.

well besides the turbo kit your gonna need a full exhaust, injectors, frount mount kit, maybe cams depending on how conservitive of a tune u want to run a boost controler and a tune to go with it well that my opinion on the matter hip that helps

man, you need a lot of parts that will support the power. A lot of money also.

I agree with this here. Just going from a civic si to an evo is going to be a big change.

I know what its like to drive cars with power, a 2003 z06 vette and a 1973 datsun 240z with 450 hp to the wheels. lol. Im just new to the turbo world. Im used to V8s. I dont want to buy one already built. I want to build the car myself. What do you guys think about the ams stages, and then putting on the turbo kit?

A turbo kit isn't the most popular or best "first mod", but I guess you can do it if you want....
