BR Deluxe--> Evo 9 turbo solution?

I'm sure there have been posts but it is hard to search by BR deluxe and evo 9 turbo.
For those of you with the deluxe intercooler, how did you solve the LICP problem? Custom fabrication or is there a LICP made for this? I want to have this detail worked out before I order a turbo. Thanks.

It depends on what version of the Deluxe you have. If it is the first version, it WILL NOT work with a BR supplied IX licp. I just talked to Jared at BR last week about this. Also, the outlet pipe that comes supplied with the IX install kit WILL NOT line up with the elbow coming out of the passenger side end tank.

There are two options. 1: fabricate a custom licp. That is what I am going to do. 2: Send your fmic back to BR and they will turn it into a IX compatible one, the latest version Deluxe, for $300.

I just went through this so I know what you are going through. I can forward you the PMs I have from Jared if you want too. Hope this helps!

I have an outlet pipe from a IX turbo that I was told was just for this. It has two slight dents in it but if you want it PM me and I can send it your way.

Agreed. That is why when I have CBRD bolt up a BBK, I am going to have them fab up a licp too for around $200. Still cheaper than shipping a fmic back and forth to BR, $300 to modify it, then pay for a ix style licp.

I'm leaning toward the BBK. I might be going with the lite on E85 with 1000cc injectors. I don't want to be forced into 1200cc and a dual pumper.

I'm going to bump this thread because I still haven't found a solution. I'm about to put a pipe on the vice and make my own solution.
There's got to be people out there running these nine based turbos on the old deluxe intercooler.

Well that sucks. I have the old school buchur deluxe with the licp built in. I need to have a licp fabbed up to work with any other turbo not based off an 8?

Yep. Or you can send your old Deluxe to BR and they can cut it up and make it into the new version for $300. Not sure if that would include the IX compatible licp or not.

I would just fab a licp though.

How can you tell the old version from the new version? I bought my Deluxe used and the LICP it came with lined right up with my BBK lite.

The old version has an elbow (half of the licp actually) welded directly to the end tank on the PS. The newer version connects to the end tank with a coupler. So you can run a VIII or a IX licp and it just connects via this coupler.

i have an evo 9 and they sent me a licp with my delux that bolted to the turbo but was definatally a tight squeeze down by the brake lines and stuff. Is that what your talking about or is it something else.
