Evo VIII Factory/Dealership replaced transfer case poll
EVO VIII's ONLY
My history with this is that my transfer case blew only after a couple thousand miles on my car and was completley stock. It was replaced under warranty through the dealership. Since then I have modded that car and currently sit at 338whp and 324tq. So far I haven't had another issue with the TC but I plan to go even further with my mods. I'm planning on getting the transmission built early next year and am debating wether I should get the TC done at the same time. I'm sure many people will say just do it and then not worry about it. At the same time I'm wondering maybe if the new TC might have been built a little better than the origional and hence my poll/survey to see how many if any have had multiple issues with stock TC's.
Again - please only respond if you have a stock transfer case. This is not for ones that have been built/modified.
You don't have to respond to your selection if you prefer to remain anonymous.

03, 107k, Stock TC and tranny may I add. Never Replaced. 400+hp DD
I really think most reported cases were due to
1. Constant Launching incorrectly (Clucth Dumps)
2. Improper Maintenence (Wrong Fluids)

'03, 45K miles, 315-350 lb-ft torque depending on the dyno. Had the stock TC & Tranny beefed up preemptively by TRE last winter. At that time Jon R said my TC was close to going due to a lot of play in it - one of the loosest he'd seen come in and not be broke, but it did show some cracks starting in the teeth, which meant failure was imminent. Lots of autox'ing on it when it was sent for work - on my 3rd clutch so far. Had an LSD installed at that point along with the rebuild, and no problems to date.
Mine happened while I was on the highway. Hit rev limiter in 4th gear and shifted into 5th. About a mile later exited off the highway and it was smoking at the stop light. Again, car was stock and still pretty new. I was passed the break in milage. Never even had a chance to launch the car. I was showing off a lil for my friend on the highway and that was the end of it.
