Fp Hta Dsm88?

Just wondering for those with the BR FP 3065, if they have looked into this turbo from FP.

It appears that it will be a direct replacement for the 3065 as it utilizes the same o2 housing, waste gate port, and manifold flange....the only exception would be the oil drain flange.

Heres the link for reference.

http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP

Want HTA™ technology in your DSM footprint with a 80+lb/min flow rate? Want BB with that? Stop looking because you just found it.
This variant of the FP30 is truly the bottom of the well, end of the rope and max possible power in a DSM footprint. Featuring the advanced 88mm HTA™ compressor section flowing over 80lb/min and capable of 45psi with good dependability and performance. Hotside is the familiar 9cm^2-.68 A/R SS casting which houses the high flowing GT350 turbine wheel. Unlike the smaller FP30 turbos, this turbo has the larger T4Z ball bearing CHRA. In addition to gaining strength and durability as a result of this larger bearing housing, you need to know that a T4 flanged oil drain tube is now required. Oil inlet threads are still 7/16 -24 inverted flair fitting, so that is the same as the smaller FP30's.

The FP HTA™ DSM88 Turbo for DSM Flanged Vehicle uses a T4S 4" Anti-Surge ported inlet and 2.5" outlet compressor housing while full compatibility with O2 housings from smaller FP30's is retained.

Maybe we could get some input from Buschur or FP on this as I would be very interested in trying this out on the evo....

Looks like its just a hta88 which comes in the t3 version for evos but its just a bolt on affair for a dsm. Nothing special there.

Why Fp and Pte are still not making bolt on turbos for the evo like they do for the dsms still have me scratching my head. It seems they could make a ton of cash making a 35r, 3065, 3575, ht88 ect ect ect in a bolt on turbine housing. Yes it wont make as much power as one in a t3 or t4 turbine but so what. Its been working in dsms forever. But its a smart business move I suppose. It allows them the ability to charge 2k for a red which is rediculous.

Yea, I know its just like the HTA88, but for those that already have the 3065, I am wondering if this will just be a turbo swap affair...if so, then it will make the conversion to a bigger turbo much easier on the wallet...

If you are talking about swapping Chra's then no I dont see how you can. They use two diffrence turbine wheels.

Depending on your buschur kit it may or may not be an easy swap. I have what I assume is an older kit (bought it used) and it has a fitting with a v-band connection on each end between the wastegate and the turbine housing. Because of this I can swap to and of the FP turbos with the FP30 turbine housing. The newer kits have the fitting welded to the turbine housing and to upgrade them you will need a fitting welded on to the turbine housing. I'm guessing they changed to this new method to reduce costs on v-band fittings. Unfortunately, it makes it more expensive to swap turbos.

I have the older vband connection...

1699.00 is a lot less than 3400+ for a entire new setup...

I'm sure the cast manifold will not yield the same results as the tubular mani....but it might provide better spool.

Its not on their site, but I had talk to them about 2 months ago and was told they could make a HTA3582 with the housing for the cast buschur kit. They didnt tell me the additional cost. They just said it would take a couple weeks to get together.

We have 4 versions of that turbine housing. One for a T31 turbine wheel, one for a GT30 turbine wheel, one for a GT35r turbine wheel and one for a T350 (stg 5) turbine wheel. If you are setup for that housing already, moving to one like it with a different turbine wheel profile is a bolt on affair.

The only complication as noted previously is a new wastegate extention needs to be welded on. I can duplicate that here If I have your old one or a good picture for an additional price.

Kevin, I beleive the only difference is just the extension that BR welds onto the the WG flange for the Cast kit compared to how the DSM set up comes straight from FP. Of course the Flange is different on the return line but you should be able to just get the fitting and not replace the whole line do to the threaded fittings on the flex line. Im pretty sure the inlet thread pitch on both are the same.

EDIT: posted before I read the whole thread. FP beat me to it. I only knew cause I have a DSM still. My vote goes for a HTA86 with a 35R turbine whell!
