Exhaust Manifold ?'s

Hey guys I'm about to remove my exhaust manifold and I was wondering if you guys have any tricks in removing it. What did you guys do to break the nuts loose? (PB blaster? Breaker bar? Or just plain muscle? Did you use anti-seize?) And how did you guys get to the bottom bolts on the exhaust manifold that connects to the head? I cant even see them lol. Thanks guys

PB blast the *** out of it - mine all broke free with minimal effort @ 30k miles when I did my ported goods. I replaced studs with SS hardware to help future removal much easier

that could be the ultimate noob question ever....

PB blaster was sent from heaven, it is only the greatest thing known to man to come from an aerosol can.

11th commandment - "Thou shall not work on a car without a can of PB Blaster"

For tools I went to Sears purchased a short 12mm,13mm, and 14mm socket(3/8") swivel adapter pieces, comes in a set of 3. Set of 3 socket extension(3/8), short, medium and long. Pivoting socket wrench. The bolts on the bottom are not hard to reach, they look it though. Make sure you have a sheet of cardboard on the radiator.

My bolts had 65k on them, broke 1 stud, and 3 studs came out as a 1 piece with the nut. Replaced all but 2 stud/nut combo's with grade 9.8 bolts to make life easier in the future.
