Boost controller question plz help

Hey i am considering getting a turbo XS high performance mechanical boost controller. I want to raise my boost to 20psi and keep it there all the way to redline. I was wondering if i used this mechanical boost controller to set the boost to 20 psi, would it drop to 17 psi as the rpms go up? Or will it stay at a constant 20 psi. Cuz i know the stock boost drops from 19.5 to about 16.5.

If this controller wont do what i want, anyone know of a mechanical controller that will? I dont want to spend hundreds on a electronic one.

Any help would be GREATLY appretiated.

If you set it at 20 it will stay close to that. The factory has an active boost controller. The XS is passive.

They are practically all the same when dealing with ball spring type.

I have a Hallman. First one I ever installed and it works well. You can also add capability to tune it from within the car, pretty cool.

BTW, you may should keep tabs on it, since boost will change somewhat with diff weather, elevation, etc. You may have to adjust it from time to time, and obviously need a boost gauge.

Good luck!

better get some octane in that car if you plan on running 20psi daily..... or you can start saving for a new motor, one or the other

im running 91 octane right now. Best i can get my hands on. Should i invest in some octane boosters? If so, which ones? Also if the car is running 19.5 psi stock on 91 octane i dont think 0.5 extra boost would hurt.

You will be fine with 20 psi , on 91 octane.
