Boost taper at high rpm?? Is my BOV leaking?

Just recently got my Boost Controller installed and dialed in, but noticed that my boost peaks and holds at 20psi, but drops down to 18 or so once I get to 5krpm.

Im pretty sure I have a leak somewhere, but I dont know exactly where to pinpoint it.

Does this sound like a leaking BOV? If so would an MR BOV be sufficient for my mods, or would an Aftermarket be a better option?

Just to solidify things, Im going to order a set of Breeze tbolt clamps to maxumize seals on the charge piping.

if it leaks it would hold at a steady boost, it wouldnt go down
prolly something electronic maybe the ecu telling teh wastegate to lower the pressure cuz air temp is too high in the intercooler or something

I see you have the Hallman Pro, like me. I've gone through 2 methods of installing it and I still lose boost at redline too. It starts to taper off around 6000rpm. In my case, it is not the stock bov, cuz I still lose boost if I set it to 11psi. I don't think it is the hose clamps either. I had a thread up here about this:

I connected the Boost controller directly to the compressor housing and wastegate actuator, not using any Tees, and Ziptie'ing all of the connections.

On the stock Solenoid, I used a piece of vacuum line to loop the connections, and left the harness connected.

I guess I am left with one question.....

Is it possible to hold 20psi all the way to redline with the stock turbo?

The size of the vacuum lines can also have an affect on your boost, same with the length of the lines..

I'm having the same boost taper problems too and i tried using the abc with the Utec and now im on the blitz ebc. I taper from 20-18.5.

Can you elaborate on that?

Try turning your boost controller down to the lowest setting possible, and see if you still lose a good chunk of pressure. If you do, it probably isn't the bov or the hose clamps.

Strange. I used only the amount of line supplied with the BC. Even have it zip tied to the Rad hose and thermo taped to the fan shroud for the most direct route possible.

Im going to order a MR BOV and see what happens.

Here is a pic of my BOV location, for fun.

not the prettiest, but it was the most efficient.

on the stock turbo....i had three different boost controllers. With each one, the boost would always drop(even if it was just a little)

i think it has more to do with the stock turbo than the boost controller.

I am running the BR MBC and can hold 20psi until around 6500. By 7800 it will fall about 2 psi. I have a 2.75in downpipe and 3in HF cat and cat back (RnR). 3in CAI (RnR) and dynoflash custom tune.

Do u have the HKS EVC Boost Controller ? B/c thats what I have installed and it would hold the boost all the way to redline however now my boost is shooting up @ 4,000RPM to 20psi then my RPM's fall a little then it will continue to redline....
