I did this mod about three years back and have experienced no side effects, other than a stronger urge to drink expensive German beer on Saturday afternoons.

LOL i dont drink but thats funny here is another one for you just take a cab back or ill drive you back in your evo :-)

I did it to mine a while ago. Never really red up on it just talked to older guys and said that there is really no critical purpose for it.

I haven't experienced anything that would be considered a problem. Then reading this thread i saw that someone said they did this with older dsm's and it would cause idle surge. I can the car does surge but only on cold starts in the morning so its no major concern.

Ill have the check if the throttle body gets hot or not on drives.

You know one of the main reasons they heat the throttle body is so in cold conditions the throttle doesn't stick into an open position which is a bit dangerous. Then again there are no reports of this happening so its probably a VERY extreme condition to make it happen.
