"Easiest" way to make 500whp...

Hello everyone! I FINALLY got an Evo, I'v been waiting for years...Anyways, I was wondering if it was possible to make near 500whp (PUMP GAS) w/o having to spend millions... I was looking at the FP red! Forced Performance said with the right mods that turbo could be really close...
2003 Mitsubishi Evo:
FP Red Turbo
AMS Intercooler
AMS Turbo-back
1000cc injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
Those were the main components...Do you guys think its possible?? I dont want to spend all that money on a certain plan if its only going to make me 400whp... Thanks for any info you might have!!

Well 500 whp can be done on pump gas but it may not be that safe, i'd say go with a 35r and see what your tuner can do. Don't shoot for whp, shoot for having a fast car you can enjoy and not worry about blowing up.

I think if you ran the RED, E85, FP4R's or equiv, aggressive tune, 3" exhaust, SS O2 housing, Ported Intake with 65mm TB,.....you won't care if it's making 500 whp. At that level, the dyno differences posted here prove that 400 on one dyno might be 475 on another. The number doesn't matter. Just do that and you'll see what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, don't forget the clutch, you'll need it.
PS: Change to the 1200 injectors too.

no offense, but have you driven a 500whp car? I recommend you work you way up if not just seems like you are jumping into this thinking 500whp reliably on pump is easy...

Wow, thanks for all the feedback so quickly! I see a few of you advise E85, but where I live we dont have that...I kinda wanna refrain from using meth too. I saw an evo w/ 627whp on 93oct w/ a 35r! How the F*** is that possible?? Thats like 200 more than the normal!

It is possible but costly for most. It would consist of supporting mods, some internals, and a good tune(AEM would yield better results). Oh, an HTA86 would be a good choice of turbo as well.

Where in miami do you live that you cant get E-85, there's the U-Gas isn't there?

Call Buschur racing! Im making 540 on Pump with my old turbo, now I have the HTA 86 in, and just have to get it installed and tuned, could get around 600 on straight pump.

But if you havent driven one of these yet, work your way up, they are more than a handful!

You'll also need a double pumper for E85 and the Red

and blown engine.. wow.. guess he assumes you don't need a tune.. 35r. Mellon Tuning hit 500 on a 35r on pump for like maybe 4k and he was set. a good tune is always important.

FP Red is the best turbo on a stock motor..no other turbo is going to run as fast when you are limited by RPM and HP.. PERIOD..

You know where we are located.. Nobody in this state puts out more HIGH HP Evos then us.. stop by and ill go over everything youll need.. If you do it right the 1st time is much cheaper than doing shortcuts 3x.

^^^ That was probably sarcasm, since these questions are asked every 15 min without searching.

you can say that again. I have seen a few people go different routes to get to the right setup and it costs so much money
