Well I am going for a shepherd rebuild in the near future. Anybody actually running this final drive?, what are your thoughts on it. My car will be around 500-550whp soon, could I benefit from this? Also better gas mileage would be nice on the interstate

 

I have this final drive. My redline is 8k and my first goes to 50, 2nd 80, 3rd 100, 4th 140 and 5th i have no idea. Cruising on the highway i didnt really notice better fuel economy but at 70mph i think its around 3k rpms. Sometimes i kinda wish i went with the 3.73 the 4.11 isnt that much lower then stock. My brothers car has stock gearing and his 4th tops out at 130mph at 8k rpms so only a 10mph difference in 4th gear. If i had to do it all over again i'd get a 3.73 final drive. Hope that helps.

 

So, what is the stock final drive ratio on a 5-spd. U.S.D.M. Evo?

 

I have that in my car but then again im a 2.3 with a rev limit of 8400 so I needed the extra gear.

Sorry to bring the thread back from the dead, but where can I get the 3.73 final drive for the evo??
The only site that I could find is TRE, any other site that sells both gear ratios??

 

TRE makes the 3.73. I believe you can only get it from there.

 

I have emailed them twice to try to get info about this final drive. Still have not gotten any response. From what I have read, if I leave the stock 9 gears I can still get about 140 out of 4th by 8000. But I may do the evo 8 3rd and 4th also.

 

^^Same here, I wanna get the 3.73 final drive and the evo 8 3rd an 4th, since am going to strock my motor next year, mind as well get the gears for it now.

I have the RS Tranny , 1st gear : 79km/h = 49mp/h
But the advantage of the 4.111 that u have 305 km/hfor the top speed ''According to Mr J.Shepherd mail''
