2.0 long rod
How many of you out there are running a 2.0 long rod set up? What are the power benefits and the over all down falls of this motor?
It seems to me that the shorter piston and the longer rod would move the weight of the rotating assembly closer to the crank witch would give you better rotating inertia. Is this correct?
Dos the different distribution of weight have any other effects?

I am using a long rod setup, which employs a custom length Oliver rod and 2.3L stroker piston for my 2.0L. This yields a slightly better rod/stroke ratio than the factory arrangement (1.77 vs 1.70).
The advantages of a longer rod tend to be insignificant unless the difference in ratio is at least 5%. The longer rod allows one to use a shorter, lighter piston, increases piston dwell around TDC (which increases high rpm ignition resolution and power), and reduces side loading.
The tradeoff is reduced low speed VE, but FWIW, I'm not feeling it.

Magnus Motorsports www.magnusmotorsports.com has been building these long-rod motors for years. They also build Brent Rau's 6 and 7 second motors

I might as well change the magnus website to my homepage, i am there more then any other sight

I can honestly say i wont be building any motors that don't use Marco's pistons
