so i was driving around and got on the highway, and at about 4.5k or 5k rpm and increasing in 5th gear i heard a pop, which im sure was from the exhaust. i stopped the car, no oil leaking, and the car is still running good. any idea what it was??

 

Did you loose any power? maybe an IC pipe slightly poped? You might not notice any lost of power if you drive the car at no boost. my .2c

nah, no lost boost. i got on it again maybe 15 min down the road. still has me pretty confused

Really sounds like a backfire right before boost cut.

 

If you have a fuel pump and a ecu flash, you can rule out boost or fuel cut depending on setup.

 

hopefully thats all it was. never happened before. could u think it could also have something to do with how cold it was outside??

I recently got a small poping sound btwn 5-7k rpm at wot. I need new plugs though.

 

nah i dont have a tune, as far as i know i dont. i got the car with 16,000 miles on it and the dude left his o2 housing, downpipe and turbo timer on there, he took everthing else, so i guess maybe its possible he got a tune before it went to the dealership
