well...it's a chance you take buying a used car. You don't know if it had been beat or not. That's what I mean by luck. Stock EVO clutches aren't that great though, so they will wear out and you will need a new one eventually anyways. Shouldn't be a reason to get rid of the car.

 

If he wants to get rid of the car because of a possible clutch problem then he should get rid of it. Modded Evo's require maintenance and it can get pricey. Someone else will buy it.

 

can it be due to the spark plugs?

 

Go out and drive at 45 MPH in 5th gear. Floor the gas pedal and watch the RPM gauge. If the RPMs shoot up then your clutch is slipping.
