little problem..
little problem..
My evo9 is completely stock..I took upper ic pipe to polish it and installed it back on..and I took it to the high way all the sudden when im on 4th and 5th gear..it reaches 4000rpm then gets little bogging then jumps to 5000.. I can't seem to find the problem..am I leaking boost? help me please
could you explain it a lil better? if it seems like when you punch it sits there for a second then jumps up or the rpm go up and your cars mph stays the same its you clutch slipping...when my clutch first started slipping i would punch it around 3k and at 4k it would pause for a second then jump to 5k and catch again
He took his uicp off now his clutch is slipping? Great advice. His car is bogging, not free reving. Sounds like you have a boost leak. You now own a turbocharged car, build yourself a home depot boost leak tester. Best $10 you could ever spend.

Hmm...doesn't really seem like a boost leak, as that would probably occur in every gear. If your boost is holding fine through the first few gears, I'm sure that's not it. Definately could be the clutch, seeing as how there is more of a load on the drivetrain in the higher gears, which would cause it to slip.

never raced or anything..i dont even use half clutch.. i had 03 evo for 3 years
and had no problems on clutch.. im so annoyed at this point.. i think imma get rid of the evo.. i cant stand it anymore
If it is in fact the clutch, 20,000 miles, especially on an unmodified EVO, is very low mileage for the clutch to start going. I know other people have blown their clutches even quicker than that, but the majority will go for longer. I've got almost 50k on my stock clutch with bolt ons and it's still holding strong (knock on wood). Just the luck of the draw
