I like the low end on the 272s. How much do you give up on the low with Kelfords over HKS 272s?

You're misreading because all over that dynochart are 30+ whp gains.

Beware of focusing on peak numbers

Low end torque and spool up isnt much different with the kelfords, I can't really tell a difference with power under the curve. Idle was a little tricky to get stable. And my ported/built head with the built motor and the kelford 272 required massive tuning changes to keep it safe.
Basically, my old setup was... stock block, stock head with hks 272, full bolt ons and stock 03 turbo, at 22psi it made 320whp and 295wtq on a weird reading dynojet.
Now with my current mods, ix turbo at 21 psi after a full re-tune it made 360whp and 322wtq on the same dyno. full boost in 3rd gear is right at 3500 on the dot, about 100-200rpm slower then my old setup. This is all conservative 93 octane self-tuning using the cobb access port race tuner.
Bottom line, I'm very happy with the kelfords, good power, bad *** sounding idle, and they seem to work well with my ix turbo and should work well with a bigger turbo, like a 35r.
Hopefully this helps answer some questions.

I just upgraded from HKS 280s to Kelford 272's. I installed GSC beehive springs on the stock retainers/seats at the same time, and so far I'm impressed with them. They idle nicely and make power up top. No dyno numbers yet, but soon enough.

I don't think they are the "same", but they are definatly similar. Driving my car, vs driving a buddys car that has m2s, and the other mods are very similar, it feels like my car is noticably more responsive below 3500rpm, and everywhere else in the rpm is almost the same. It might be a tuning difference, but the tuning compairison is my self tune on my car, and his car was tuned by ams. Soo one would think that they would probably maximize power everywhere, (and definatly be better at it then I am) and if that's true, it is the difference in the cams.

you are quoting the peak numeber difference's.....

At 6k revs, it looks to be about a +30whp gain.

the first graph compare is of cosi m2's vs s1's......my s1's made more powe than hks 272's on my car....since i didnt run with m2's & hks 272's with identical set-ups, i figured posting those 2 different compares would shed some light on the potential gains.

i like the ams cam test, as the mod set-up is all the same, just different cams. the ams cam test points out the merits of each cam set-up.

Two different companys (Cosworth and Kelford)

As for specs:

Cosworth M2 272/272

Intake lift 11mm
Exhaust lift 11mm

Kelford 272/272

Intake lift 11mm
Exhaust lift 11mm

Pretty much the same.

Lift is the same. I have no idea if the grind (cam lobes) are the same.

Would these kelford 272's be a good choice on the stock turbo? I plan on upgrading the turbo someday, but want cams first.

^ Hey all.

Ive JUST upgraded to these cams.

Basically they gave me 12hp up top over stock cams. But the power curve is very aggressive now. Torque is up EVERYWHERE except <2000rpm.

My car is now making 265whp at 6150rpm.

My Mods are:

HKS EVC Tuned to 22psi
Custom 3" Turboback Exhaust
Trust Spec-M Intercooler Kit
Gruppe M Intake
Kelford 272 Cams
Fidanza Adjustable Camgears
Flash Tune + Fuel Pump
