So how many of you DD with the Kelfords? I'm seeing different opinions on how they would be for that.

Quote: Two different companys (Cosworth and Kelford)

As for specs:

Cosworth M2 272/272

Intake lift 11mm
Exhaust lift 11mm

Kelford 272/272

Intake lift 11mm
Exhaust lift 11mm

Pretty much the same.
That is a VERY bad assumption to make. Unless you have ramp rates, duration at 1mm, lobe centers you have no idea how the two cams compare. Jun 272s have intake and exhaust lift of 10.8mm, are they pretty much the same too? As far as I'm concerned, the Cosworth M2 comparison tells us nothing about the Kelfords.

I do. They are way more agreesive then the hks cams... but the drivability is just as good. The idle is what will get to some people. Some people want real real smooth idle, like stock, so they will give up power and use smaller cams. I personally like the lopey idle, and I have yet for somebody to tell me it doesn't sound bad ***.

There were two main questions I was referring too,
1- Question: Is Kelford and Cosworth the same company?
Answer: No, Kelford is produce in New Zealand and Cosworth is produce in England.

2 - Question: do they have they have the same intake/exhaust lift?
Answer: Yes, 11mm by 11mm.

I was merely comparing the Intake and Exhaust lift, that's all, if you want to elaborate more on this please do...

Cosworth produces their own pistons and crankshafts (IIRC). Their cams are made in New Zealand

I put 30,000 miles on my HKS 280's and have about 1000 miles or so on my kelfords/gsc springs. For DD, they are awesome, no downsides, just more power, everywhere. Even on the stock turbo.

lol, I just got off the phone with Cosworth, and there Camshafts are made in England not New Zealand.

Even if you go to Wikipedia --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosworth it tells you that.

I will now use Wikipedia to discover every company's supply chain, because if it's in there it must be true.

You can believe whatever you want. Cosworth does not make all of their own parts for the Sport Compact market. Kelford private labels for a whole host of people.

Quote: You're misreading because all over that dynochart are 30+ whp gains. Beware of focusing on peak numbers
After re-looking the charts, you were/are right. I'm not going to get into the Wikipedia debate and all I'm going to say is that I have had my eyes on the Kelford's for a while now and although there are many respectable companies out there, they still carry a certain appeal to me. I am running the GSC S1 272 cams right now and I'm seriously going to need a cam upgrade with the addition of a few other "go fast" parts (i.e. - BBK Full, E85, BR BMIC) just to name a few. I'm glad that this thread was started because I'd been considering that it was simply my lack of other supporting mods that was keeping me back as opposed to needing a better set of cams.

Aby's car pulled a good length on mine on a nice private stretch of road. He with the Cosi M2's and SMIM and me with the GSC S1's.

S1 is a good cam, but I will be upgrading to either the Cosi M2's or the Kelfords 272's in the future. From 4,000+ it's a whole different story
