I would definitely go with kelford over hks. the idle is a little rougher with the kelfords but they produce more horsepower spend the extra cash.

Here are some things I gathered from switching from HKS 264's to Kelford 272's.

HKS 264's lobe size = 35.8mm

Kelford lobe size = 36.4mm

HKS lobe radius = 10mm

Kelford lobe radius = 11mm

That combination of features, larger lobes with a bigger radius, is what makes the Kelford cams have more duration and lift.

Kelfords are in my 2.3L GT3076R Evo and idling and daily driving beautifully on the stock ECU. The idle took some work, but hang out in the ECUflash area and you can get them to idle like a dream.

I just bought some gsc s2, so we shall see how much of a gain I see compared to my Hks 272.
I will keep everybody updated. Should have #'s in a couple of weeks.

is it true kelford 272's dont need springs and retainers? it seems odd that it sayd on their website that they work with the stockers. and i also want to know if they throw any CEL when you put them on.

I received a PM about three weeks ago in reference to that exact question and I was informed that it is recommended. My thoughts are to simply buy them and have the added comfort as a peace of mind.

I would assume the Kelford 272's are similar to the Cosworth Evo 8 M2's and the GSC S2's. You can run them with the stock springs/retainers, but it is recommended that you upgrade.

Supertech springs and retainers are decent quality and relatively inexpensive.

Hey Guys,
I have the Cosi mivec M2 cams with the Green. Other mod on the car as followsc 3"dp with random tech hf cat, Greddy evo 2 cat back. Helix o2,65mm ported throttle body( Thanx to Abby ) HKS intake with carbon airbox. Nesai comp intercooler with piping, 720 injectors and walbro pump. With all the same mods except for the green and cams my IX made 307 hp and 292 tq. when we added the cams and green we made 368 hp and 339 tq. The is on straight 91 oct and both set ups were on the same dynojet. The pulls were done on the same day for comparision. Peak tq hit at 3400rpm.Power was better from 1800 all the way to redline. Boost was 23lbs. At 7000 rpm before hp was 300 and after was 368.. I dont know how to post the graph but I have a copy on paper. Hope this helps. For 91 oct only,my car is a beast with a great dd powerband.
