2.3 Power Goals
Hey everyone,
I've been doing a lot of research on my build and the money has finally piled up for the project to take off. I'm trying to be realistic about my goals here, but I do need some help as I cannot find everything I'm looking for. My goal and questions are as follows.
Setup (I think)
2.3 Buschur Block
Stage 3 Buschur Head
Buschur in tank Double Pumper
Buschur Ported TB and IM
RnR T3 Manifold
PT6262 or HTA35r [help me decide]
Tial 44mm wastegate
QTP 3" Cutout
BR Ignition System [do I need it?]
My goal is ~650awhp on 93 pump gas. This car will be driven daily.
Thank for all the help!

the 02 housing is a different story, the manifold puts the turbo far to the passenger side of the car, RnR's way of getting around that is to supply a 2.25" O2 housing with a really sharp bend in it, that is what kills the power.
the manifold is fine, its just a ramhorn design which has been proven on many applications

you can buy my turbo for 600 =) I live close too. Its a 37r with h-cover. I ran it on a 2.3 and it was a fun car. I made 618whp at 34psi on 93/meth and 673 at 36.5lbs on q16.
I have to look at it again to remember 100% but i still beleive the design on the manifold is junk.. How the runners come of the head also has hard bends in them also and i dont think they are finished cleanly on the inside either like Shearer does.. We are not talking about making 500hp on a 35r, the guy is looking to make more HP than almost any car has made on pump.. He needs a better combination than the RNR IMO..

. but the manifold is far from junk.search freddy302 on the forum, he made 804 whp, 6XX wtq with an rnr manifold, 3" O2 and the HTA86
would he make more with a different manifold? possibly

dont get me wrong, the rnr is not the best manifold out there and is not on par with shearer/full race/ets/custom AWDMotorsports mani

As far as freddy's thread that thread had so much debate on whether or not the numbers were inflated or not.. many were waiting to see the 150+ mph trap speeds to determine if the #'s were even accurate or not.. I dont know if that happened.. I have personally seen 2 cars on my dyno with that manifold and even with great supporting mods the cars didnt make good power..
Just a few comments for the OP. The RNR manifold is fitted for a 38mm wastegate, you listed a 44mm, is that correct?
Do you have the O2 housing and downpipe that go with the RNR manifold already? The O2 housing is an issue for sure if you want the big numbers.
I have an RNR manifold on my car that I got for $200. Here are my observations:
1. It was cracked and I had to patch it up.
2. The insides are nowhere near the quality of the other manifolds out there.
3. The basic ramhorn design and shape are OK, and proven on Full-Race Honda manifolds, but the execution is a little lacking.
4. It took me a couple days of screwing around to fit and build a true 3 inch O2 housing to work with the manifold - it wasn't easy.
If you are looking to really squeeze out every drop of power, in the long run it's going to be easier to get a manifold, O2 housing, and downpipe that is still supported and makes good powa. I'm worried that when my manifold continues to crack I'll have to replace all that stuff again.
