Opinions please on IC bottle

Is it worthwhile keeping the Intercooler spray bottle and adjusting the setting via ecuflash so it sprays more often, or should I just bin the thing and stick a cold air feed to the filter. I've read a few times that its just a gimmick is this true or does it actually help?

let me ask you a question if it did not help why is it on the car. Why do they sell intercooler water sprayers then if it does nothing. Now is it needed of course not but again its just another feature to help the evo out if you dont like it pull it im gonna keep mine and when i get my new cwest bumper if i change ill move the sprayer over to that bumper even if i have to custom rig it

05+ Evos here don't even come with one. Personally, gimmick. I say ditch it. When it is time, a larger more efficient front mount will do more than the IC cooler.

they barely help, if any
i would take it off
its not there to "help" the car in anyway, so dont believe that

if they actually worked so good, why would they take them off the later year evos?

^ Correct!

It seems only they USDM cars they pulled it out.

But you guys seem to be missing other cool things like AYC, etc.

JDM, UKDM, AUDM all still seem to run the intercooler sprayers.

It does help, But not all the time. It helps cool the core down ready for the next 'run'.

Also, if doing circuit work, it helps keep the overall intake temps that little bit lower..

IT DOES work..

They work to keep heat soak down on the intercooler. I think they are perfect for auto x , or circuit racing or drag racing. As far as them being effective on the street I'm not so sure if its practical and functional. Who knows? I am not a mechanical engineer to fully answer that. All I know is that I'm keeping mine because its not hurting the car.

Does it work while its on "Auto mode" ??? I never have heard it spray once while on auto mode.
