i have a evo 4

i was driving on the motorway when suddenly car boost cutted..sometimes it does this so didnt think anything of it


previously before it did that i had put 91 gas instead of 98 by accident..
so after my boost cut the next day im dryving and feels like ive lost alot of power!
thought might be gas so put 98 in it again and it ran a little better but feels like im boosting but not really going anywea like im loosing boost.My guage says ive hit full boost tho..and then i thought maybe iv got a manifold leak..i dont.
then i thought the wastegate was sounding diffrent..!

still goes but just feels non turbo as such..compared to b4
i dont know what it is or how to fix it..my boyfriend had a look and i havent got any boost leaks or anything....so can u please help..i hope it isnt the turbo but yeh please help me lol

 

check the plugs, you couldve burned them up running lean with the other gas.

 

yeah checked plugs i was hoping it was that..but they seem fine a little dirty but not really bad,im going to replace them anyways.Thanks for ur reply

also how does the car idle? steady on the gauge. if not it might be a good idea to check the compression.

 

idleing fine..sitting at about 900..
nothing other than the power has changed... was thinking blocked fuel line or something?
just lost power really. still quick but nothing compared to what it was.
like you no how u can feel the boost cos it pulls u back into ur seat.. well thats gone

with the 91 gas in it,the car was more vulnerable to knock,the lost of power is car's knocking,the ecu is pulling timing...when you put the 98 back in,you mixed it with the 91,burn all the gas out and put just 98 back in an see how it runs

 

do you think it has perminatly damaged it? thanks for all ur advice
just feels like maybe an air leak.. or sumthng mite not even be to do with the gas just co -incidently happend withn the same few days
