Turbo IX question!

Hey, I'm doing my IX turbo install right now, but i just looked inside of my box and I didn't get the j-pipe along with the turbo, I have everything else...

Is it at all possible to use the 8 turbo j-pipe?? could you bend it or anything to make it work??

You talking about the lower intercooler pipe? Or the turbo outlet pipe that's black in color?

Hmmm. The IX turbo install "kit" usually comes with that black pipe and all hoses for coolant and oil. I don't know if you can bend it much to accomodate your LICP for fear that it may crack. Def. heat it if you are going to try to bend it.

Yea, I would def heat it up before bending it...

I think it might work if I can bend it just enough...plus it'll save me the trouble of having to get the kit.

Anyone else with any advice??

Well...with couplers, they are a little more bendable to attach your licp to the outlet pipe. You using a stocker licp or aftermarket?

You know that the problem is that the VIII J-pipe used in conjuction with the IX compressor housing contacts the starter and sparks will fly.

Im not 100% on this but im sure i read that you can turn the compressor housing round slightly so the VIII J pipe can be used.

I have also heard that it will cause contact with the starter and cause sparkage.

i had the same problem when i installed my fp-red, the silicone coupler from the j-pipe that came with the install kit touched my dump tube, i then put back my 8 j-pipe and it worked not realizing it was touching my starter wires.
unfortunately from that mistake i now have a new starter and built engine.

MAKE SURE IT DOESNT TOUCH THE STARTER WIRES!!!!!
