XEDE question
XEDE question
The $90 plug and play harness that you can get with the Xede...doesn't seem so "plug and play".
According to the website, you still have to pull apart the factory harness to remove a wire for the "plug and play" harness for the Xede.
Am I misunderstanding this, or is this how "plug and play" ain't so plug and play any more? 90 bux just seems like a lot of cash to deal out for a harness that doesn't quite live up to its name...
Thanks for any help/input.

I **think** that has actually already been resolved in later a version and you don't have to do it anymore. Looking at it, though, if you have to just pull one wire from the harness, it should be a breeze.
I just installed my XEDE w/harness. The harness does make it much easier than the previous installation. You only need to unplug 1 wire (light green) from the factory harness. This wire gets rerouted to the XEDE in order to activate the boost control.
The previous method required splicing several wires. I also don't believe it had the boost control feature. If you have a tiny screwdriver (eyeglass repair kit), you can do it within 15 minutes.
If you ever need to remove the XEDE for warranty service, you'll be glad you spent the $90 bucks. It's hard to hide spliced ecu wires.
