fp red or fp green better for this setup?

I currently have the following mods on my IX, ACT Clutch/TBE/MBC/Forge Wastegate/ETS Intercooler/Lower Intercooler Pipe/850CC Injectors/Walbro 255 pump/KN Drop in Filter. Running e-85. I don't plan on upgrading my cams until my car has around 60k. I currently have 12k miles right now..hehe. So what do you guys think, go with the green or the red?

Get the red and be done...no sense in going green then red.

It really depends on what you're going to do with the car. I wouldn't just blindly reccommend the Red, even though it makes more power, you loose spool... For example, I think a green would be better for AutoX than a red.

I went from my standard IX Turbo to the Green and wasn't greatly impressed with the difference. I have now gone to the Red and all I can say is you will not be disappointed. The spool difference is about 150rpm in my case which you can't even notice but the power in the mid range to red line with the Red obliterates the Green

graphs for comparing(Cam test timing was done on Green - Cosworth M2's)

Like TxEvo said... Depends on what youre aiming for. Lots of guys go from Green to Red because they want more power. Some guys are happy at Green, never want more. How do you drive the car? Do you want 375whp or 450?

no-brainer. unless you plan on being competitive in auto-x the red is a better all around turbo.

Spending the extra $100 isnt a big deal, but if youre not gonna make use of it, no point in going with the red. I would think Green of CBRD BBK.

I disagree on this

The green spools up sooner and is now almost devoid of compressor surge and or boost creep

While the red no doubt makes more peak power, it some situations - for example a customer running 100% pump gas on a stock motor - the green may provide for a more enjoyable machine

Again on race gas or pump and meth when looking for the max peak power the red is the more powerful turbo

I think a customer needs to ask him / her self HOW they will be driving the car and what the goals are before selcting a turbo

Taking a drive in a car with the turbo you are considering IMHO is the best way to pick a turbo

I have been through at least 10 turbos on my Evo - often you get used to one turbo and then want to move in a new direction
