Send out a sample. Filter the particles and see if they dissolve in water

The particles did not dissolve in water. They did not get picked up by a magnet.

Culprits I'm looking at are cam wear, leaking coolant, dirty air filter, and fuel dilution, in order of most likely to least likely.
There is also a factor of the debris coming from the bottom of the car while I was changin the oil, the bottom of the car was touching the outer edge of the oil pan. That being said, the oil pan edges are about 2 inches high and 2inches wide all around, and I definitely saw some of this stuff comin from the oil filter.

However, the "bronze" particles I saw I have concluded are leaf. So I'm not sure what's going on there.

I've decided I'm going to run the car for 500 more miles, drain the oil and have a look. I've already sent in for oil analysis.
Just to make sure, my oil should be pretty black by the time I get to 500 miles, correct?
