9k+ rev limit questions?

I searched around a bit and had a few other questions that maybe someone else can answer.

If I wanted to rev a 2.0l motor to 9k with a 35r would Cams and springs and retainers be enough? or do I need valves and guides and all the little stuff? Also will the rod bolts with the Manley turbo tuff handle that many rpms or should i get ARP?

I'm not going to do dual springs if i have a choice so the valve seats last a little longer

To rev that high you, at the minimum, have to upgrade the stock rods.

The stock rods do not like to be revved that high or else you'll throw a rod.

You should upgrade the pistons and the head while you're at it too.

yep definitely upgrade the rod. Not just any rods. Each company will give the rod specs like maximum rated HP and RPM.

definitely need the bottom with a built head to go up that high on rpm. If you have only the bottom end i would say 8000-8200 max to be safe

Does no one read anymore? I said I'm going with the manly turbo tuff rods. oh and if it matters weisico(sp?) pistons with ARP fasteners. Turns out the rods come with the ARP 2000 fasteners also. All I'm asking is how far do I need to build it? It's a drag racing build so it'd rarely see that high of revs.

You will need a built head regardless if it will rarely see high rpm rev's rarely. 9,000 rpm on stock head can be dangerous

i am currently running the same bottom end u r thinkin about getting with bc cams, springs and retainers. i get it tuned at the end of the month with a turbo that is good for 8800rpm so i will let u know how it does, i havent takin it past 7300 with the stock turbo since theres no need.

Have you thought about using a 4g64 block and destroking it? Those things are rev happy animals, no problems with 9k there.
