Just mess with it. There's not a certain setting that works best on all cars.

Obviously the more fuel efficient version would be lower boost, and vice versa for high boost.

EDIT: searched with "profec" in titles only, and came across this. Might be useful:

first off do you have a tune on your ECU
as said before
everycar is different
there is a thread on this already with many settings...what works on my car
might not work on your car
i have low and hi set at 48 and 58 which equals 20.3psi and 23.8 on my car
i know others have different sets higher and lower at the same psi
you have to play with it
it took me forever to get these settings and i did that only after it was tuned for 24 psi

LO

SET: Try around 40% or 50%
GAIN: 5
START BOOST(SET GAIN): 8
WARNING: doesnt matter-try 15psi
LIMITER: 22psi

HI
SET: 60-70%
GAIN: 8
START BOOST(Set Gain): 8
WARNING: 15psi
LIMITER: 22psi

Try that...go from there tweaking stuff, and seeing what effect it has, if any.

When I was tuned on stock turbo, my set was 73%, and that made around 24.5psi.
Gain was set somewhere between 5-8, and start was set at 8. Warning was at 15 or 20 psi, all that will do is light up or beep or something when boost exceeds your mark.

Do you have a boost gauge?

If not you can read what boost youre hitting from the profec itself as long as you have the PEAK BOOST setting turned ON.

Then start with a low SET value (say 30 or 40 - doesn't matter, ust start low) and the minimum GAIN value and work from there.

Do a test run each time - keep reading your peak bost level off the Profec screen right after you lift off the gas abd keep raising your SET value each time until the Profec shows you that you're boosting to the level that you want (according to the screen on the Profec).

Once you have the right amount of boost (your correct SET value) you can try raising the GAIN value one notch at a time until your boost comes in as quick as possible without spiking, fluttering or otherwise behaving badly.

To set up your SET GAIN, you need to turn off your Profec, do a test run and see what your wastegate pressure is (do a test run and read the boost level off your boost gauge). Then turn your Profec on and set your SET GAIN just a little lower than your wastegate pressure. Should work OK. You might need to fiddle a bit to get it just right.

Most important thing is to start low with your SET and GAIN values and raise them slowly - SET first then GAIN and SET GAIN to fine tune spool.

I may be wrong but that's how I (eventually) set my Profec up. Good luck!

If you can wait a week or so I'll tell you know how I set mine. I just recieved the Greddy Profec B Spec II today and I will install it with my exhaust this weekend.

I recommend to put the set gain at the point in which your wastegate is just about to vent. I have mine at 190 because I have hp acutator. You want to run form wastegate as long as possible for best spool I believe then use the ebc to force it to hold further. Watch out for the limiter. Mine will spike 2-5 psi over what it is set at.
